A Lifelong Joplin Resident
Mr. Metz is a lifelong resident of Joplin, having attended Irving Elementary, South Junior High School, and the former Parkwood High School, now Joplin High School. All 3 schools were destroyed in the May 22, 2011 tornado.
He received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Economics and Business Administration from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1982, and received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 1985. Mr. Metz was admitted to practice law by both the Missouri Supreme Court and the Federal Courts for the Western District of Missouri in 1985.
Active in the Local Community
Mr. Metz is a member of the Jasper County Bar Association, having served as its President for the 2009-2010 term. He is involved in the community, having served 3 terms on the board of his church, and having served as Senior Warden to the board.
Mr. Metz currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Area on Agency in Joplin and is the Board Chairman. He is currently serving in his 4th term on the Board of the Joplin Sports Authority, having served as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Board.
